A Typical Day in Preschool

Our Sunday KidStuff activities are the same at the 9:30am, 11:15am, and 5:00pm services. (At the 7:00pm service we offer childcare only.)

Here is the typical schedule for preschoolers on Sundays:

Nursery (Six weeks- Walkers)
Our preschool ministry creates weekly opportunities for infants and toddlers to have fun in a safe, nurturing environment. Our screened and trained nursery volunteers take joy in caring for the littlest members of The Austin Stone while also being intentional to pray over them.

Preschool (Two’s –Kindergarten)
Our preschoolers learn about Jesus and how He made them, how He loves them and how He wants to be their friend forever. Here are some of the things to expect for our Preschoolers on a Sunday:

Check In /Free play
This is time that is designed to help the kids feel comfortable in the room; the children are allowed to play with all the different toys as they wait for their friends to arrive.

Make it Fun
Make it Fun is designed to move from free play to a more organized time where the children will be led through activities and games that set the stage for the Bible lesson in large group time.

KidsJam
KidsJam is our big group time for preschoolers. We start the time with finger plays which give the children a time to move around and get their energy out. Then we sing children’s worship songs in preparation for the Bible lesson. Each lesson begins with an introductory sketch that helps engage the children before opening God’s Word. KidsJam closes by learning/going over the memory verse and singing more worship songs. The children are then dismissed for a bathroom and snack break

Make it Stick
Make it Stick is a collection of activities that help reinforce the Bottom Line – the key truth from the Bible lesson of the day.

Make it Real (Kindergarten only)
Make it Real is a time where the class breaks into their small groups and talks about what they have learned. This time is designed to help them understand how the Bottom Line applies to them. They’ll discuss real-life experience and share prayer requests.

Want to come check it out yourself? Parents are always welcome to come sit in and observe our classes. Email us or look for one of our staff on Sunday and we will get you set up.
